The history of Swedish turbine manufacturing started in 1893 when Gustav De Laval established De Laval Ångturbin AB in Stockholm. In 1913, the Ljungström brothers founded Svenska Turbinfabriks Aktiebolaget Ljungström – STAL in Finspong where they manufactured counter rotating radial steam turbines.
The company has had a few name changes over the years and today it is known as Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery AB (SIT AB) and is part of the global energy company Siemens. In Finspong today, industrial gas turbines between 15 to 50 MW are designed, manufactured and assembled. There are about 2800 employees working at the Finspong site.
The bus leaves outside of conference venue main entrance at 11:00 AM sharp on Friday 7 April. The bus ride to Finspong is approximately 2 hours. There will be a grab-to-go lunch served at the bus.
