Gala Dinner
The Gala Dinner of the ETC will be held at the Quality Hotel Globe (conference venue). A three course dinner of fine Swedish cuisine will be served with great French wines. At the dinner the best paper award will be presented and the venue of the 2019 European Turbomachinery Conference will be announced.

Industry Facility Tour – Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery AB, Finspong
Swedish turbine history dates back to 1893 when Gustav De Laval starts De Laval Ångturbin AB in Stockholm. Year 1913 the Ljungström brothers start to manufacture their counter rotating radial steam turbine. The location is Finspong and the name Svenska Turbinfabriks Aktiebolaget Ljungström – STAL. The company has had many names throughout the years and today it is Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery AB (SIT AB) and is part of the global energy company Siemens. In Finspong industrial gas turbines between 15 to 50 MW are designed, manufactured and assembled. There are about 2800 employees working at the Finspong site
