Gala Dinner

The Gala Dinner of the ETC will be held at the Quality Hotel Globe (conference venue). A three course dinner of fine Swedish cuisine will be served with great French wines. At the dinner the best paper award will be presented and the venue of the 2019 European Turbomachinery Conference will be announced.

Capacity limited to 300.

Industry Facility Tour – Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery AB, Finspong

Swedish turbine history dates back to 1893 when Gustav De Laval starts De Laval Ångturbin AB in Stockholm. Year 1913 the Ljungström brothers start to manufacture their counter rotating radial steam turbine. The location is Finspong and the name Svenska Turbinfabriks Aktiebolaget Ljungström – STAL. The company has had many names throughout the years and today it is Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery AB (SIT AB) and is part of the global energy company Siemens. In Finspong industrial gas turbines between 15 to 50 MW are designed, manufactured and assembled. There are about 2800 employees working at the Finspong site

Including 25 percent Swedish VAT. The approximate EURO rate is stated in brackets.

Please note, in accordance with Swedish Value Added Tax (VAT) requirements, any company or organization from a country outside Sweden with a registered VAT number (or equivalent tax registration number for companies outside of the EU) is NOT required to pay Swedish VAT for registration to the ETC12 Conference in Stockholm. Delegates from Sweden are required to pay VAT.

REGISTERING

Accompanying Guest Programme

For accompanying guests/spouses, we will organize a couple of outings to Stockholm’s main attractions during the days of the ETC conference. The costs for such outings will be partly covered by the organizing committee, but some remaining costs will need to be covered by each guest. Just for information the initial list of possible outing options below:

Sightseeing boat tour
Vasa Museum a ship which sunk on its maiden voyage in the 1600s and which was raised, restored and is now preserved with guided tour included
Gamla Stan (old town) there is the possibility of a walking tour which I can look into further if there is enough interest
Tour of Stockholm’s City Hall The venue for the Nobel Prize Banquet
