Instructions for Reviewers

The Review Committee is a key part of the conference organization. Its role is to Review and comment on submissions, thus providing the input to the Program Committee which makes the final decision on which submissions are accepted and rejected.

Each Reviewer is supposed to Review the papers assigned by the Review Organizer, following the procedure.

This will be done with through a web-based system.

This system is based on the ‘OpenConf’ Management System and has been adapted to the specific needs of the European Turbomachinery Conference. Being Reviewer means that you have already registered in the Conference Data Base. The papers you have to process have been attributed to you by the Review Organizer, and you should have been notified of this assignment by Email. As Reviewer, you enter the system through this link: Enter the username and password you have selected when you registered in the conference database. You will see ‘Submissions to Review:’; this is the list of papers you have to take care of. You can download/save the abstract and the full paper (click on the corresponding icon).

Note: Members of the Review Committee see unpublished work of other authors. Your professional ethics preclude disclosure to any other party the contents of the submissions you handle.
In case of problems or for further questions about the reviewing process, please contact us at the following mail address of the etc secretariat from the contact page.
Should you need any assistance or have queries, please do not hesitate to contact us at the following address

Signing In/Out

When sign in is open, you may click on the Sign In and enter your username and password to gain access to the committee member features. Only those features enabled will be displayed on the committee member home page. If you have forgotten your username or password, the forgot links next to these two fields will allow you to recover your username or have a new password issued.

Once you have finished working with OpenConf or will be away from the computer for a while, click the Sign Out menu link atop the page. Note that after one hour of inactivity, you will be automatically signed out.

If reviewing is open and you have been assigned submissions to review, a Submissions to Review section will be displayed on the Reviewer home page with a table of assignments:

Rebuttal Module

The Rebuttal module allows authors to view and provide feedback (i.e., a rebuttal), in aggregate, to reviews received. Reviewers are offered the opportunity to follow-up the author’s rebuttal. Review Organizers are able to view all rebuttal responses for assigned submissions. The Chair may optionally enable email notification to the author and assigned Reviewers when a rebuttal or follow-up comment is added.

Usage – Reviewers

Click the Rebuttals link atop the Review Organiser home page to view author rebuttals, and if enabled, provide follow-up. Follow-up comments may only be submitted once, and are only visible to the Chair.

Reviewer Upload Module

The Reviewer Upload module allows a Reviewer to upload a file for an assigned submission as an additional means of providing the author with feedback. For example, the file may be an annotated version of the author-uploaded file submitted for review.

Usage – Reviewers

The Upload Review Files menu atop the committee members’ home page allows the upload of a (single) file per assigned review. The upload file format must match one of those permitted for the submission.
